10. Coir a Ghrunnda

This route leads into what has to be one of the most visually stunning corries in the Cuillin. It is popular with walkers as well as climbers accessing Sgurr nan Eag.

No footpath repair work had been carried out here prior to 2006 when this route was included in the EAGGF project. The work was undertaken by Skye Conservation services. As no formal footpath had been constructed here in the past, several different lines had evolved - all heading to the corrie. During the repair work one line was chosen to upgrade with plenty ditching and cross-path drainage to protect the finished footpath

As the footpath approaches the corrie the soil becomes very shallow and the path passes over areas full of bedrock slabs. A less formal footpath was constructed here with the emphasis on line definition.
