2. Coire Lagan [North]
This footpath was the original route to Coire Lagan before the campsite existed and is still popular with walkers and climbers from the youth hostel and Climbing hut who are accessing the ridge. It is also popular with campsite users who are looking for a short circular walk with great views of the cuillin and looking westward, the islands of Rhum, Canna and Sandday.
Work to upgrade this path was undertaken in 2006 – 2007 as part
of the EAGGF project. This involved consolidating the route into one
path line in some areas while cutting a new tray in some other sections,
using any spoil to landscape bare areas. As always providing adequate
drainage was a must. The work was carried out by McLarty Ltd.
